je vous mets le temoignage de OldSchoolNewWaver
qui était au festival et qui a donné quelques anecdotes par chansons
The whole huge crowd jumping together during "Spiderwebs" & "Hella Good" (my friend & I even got separated from the jumping to "Hella Good"
Gwen doing Lady Saw's part from "Underneath It All" (she sounded perfect doing it! & it's so much better tha just a trumpet solo which always left me wanting more)...they also went into a little ska interlude during this song
The new version of "Excuse Me Mr" which I really liked with its reggae/post-punk feel to it.
During "Ex-Girlfriend", I believe she chaged the lyric to "Why'd you have to go and fuck me?" & at the end of the bridge, she never got to say "I should've thought of that before we fucked", because she kept screaming "I'm so jealous!" after the "I'm the most gorgeously jealous kind of ex-girl" lyric
In "Simple Kind of Life", I noticed a lot more of the acoustic guitar strumming through it...of course the audience went crazy cheering when she sang "I always thought I'd be a mom"...and the ending with the flute-like keyboards sounded just like the recorded version
She said "This is the part of the show when we skank! I wanna see you all skanking" & Stephen shouts "Guns of Navarone" as they start playing the classic instrumental by the legendary Skatalites...a few skanking circle pits opened up near us in the crowd where we were packed like sardines who couldn't really even move our arms
During "New" she let out a loud scream & then went down this security corridor that ran through the middle of the crowd & sang some of it way out in the crowd
She intoduced "Running" by saying "Tony & I wrote this song in 10 minutes"
She introduced "Different People" by saying "this is one of the first songs I ever wrote" then screaming "Old School No Doubters!" as the song started...then she introduced Adrian, Stephen, Gabriel & Tony - then Tony introduced her - then she introduced Tom, before finally having us jump (even though this performance wasn't as much about the jumping as it had been in the 4 shows I saw during the Rock Steady era).
"Don't Speak" sounded great...she ended it the way she usually does (not the way she did on the Today show).
She introduced "It's My Life" by screaming "I fucking love this song!"
She started "Just a Girl" doing the whole "You talkin' to me?!" (like Robert DeNiro in Taxi Driver) thing she does...then she did a few of the push-us before starting singing...then she did what she did when I saw them perform "Just a Girl" exactly 7 years ago at SunFest in West Palm Beach, Florida (May 2, 2002), which was to climb all the way up on the scaffolding on the side of the stage (I'm sure their managers/insurers were flipping out, especially since I'm sure everything was slippery from the rain)...while she was up there, she had all the guys sing "I'm just a girl!" then said "That was god, but you haven't fuckin heard anything yet!" & proceeded to have all the girls sing it.
They went off stage & after a while of the audience screaming for them to come back out, they came out...She said "This is the first time we're gonna do this song...if you guys like it, maybe we'll keep doing it"...Adrian was wearing a big drum strapped to his chest, Gabe was playing Adrian's drum set & everybody else was banging their drumsticks together then played those big garbage-can looking drums...I can't begin to explain how AMAZING all those drums made "Stand and Deliver" sound!!!...so much BETTER than the recorded version (which I might add, sounded so much better blasting through my friend's car stereo than on my shitty laptop speakers)..my friend & I were going crazy for it, since we're both huge fans of the original...during the second verse Adrian played the drum that was strapped to him as he went down through that security corridor that ran through the middle of the audience...& the song ended powerfully with everybody drumming again!
Finally, they ended with "Sunday Morning"...they played the same arrangement from the Rock Steady Tour (not the arrangement from Live in the Tragic Kingdom which they had also used on The Singles Tour)
At some point earlier when talking about Borgata, she said "we played this little show last night, to make sure we wouldn't suck for you guys tonight"
Right after they played "Prince Charming" by Adam and the Ants over the sound system (a reference that I'm sure was lost on 99.9% of that crowd.
